I entertain myself when I'm cleaning by thinking about the most systematic, most efficient, most enjoyable way to do it. I remember thinking this way about cleaning when I was a kid. I used to imagine things like "The World Dishwashing Championships." It would be kind of like mogul skiing: scored on speed plus judging. There'd be scores for cleanliness and usage of water and energy.
Cleaning is not socially prestigious. It's not regarded well. But it has to be done. You want your work to be socially recognized, and you want skill, of any kind, to be socially valuable.
