I generally start cleaning when I know that I've got at least a two-hour span, which, in my life, is not very often. If I have two hours, the last thing I want to do is: A) laundry and B) clean the fish tank.
I remember cleaning out the tank as a kid. It was the only time I was able to play with razor blades. There was this scrapey thing: a big long stick with a blade on the end. You scraped the inside of the tank to remove the algae. I used to love cleaning with the blade. My dad showed me how to do it. My dad had a fish tank for most of our time growing up. We'd chill out, watch the fish, and talk about them.
